Laboratory Technician
Exelus Inc. is seeking a highly motivated chemical technician
to operate bench scale reactors to screen and optimize new catalytic
systems. Must be able to set up, operate, and maintain laboratory
instruments, monitor experiments, make observations, calculate and
record results, and develop conclusions. Maintain equipment and
accurate production records, both written and computer based. Must
have demonstrated ability to carry out basic chemical process operations,
following operating procedures with minimal supervision. Requires
basic computer skills, familiarity with MS Excel and Word, mathematical
skills and mechanical aptitude. Good written and oral communication
skills. Associate degree in Chemical or Mechanical Technology or
related field. Minimum 5 years relevant experience.
Research Engineer/Chemist
Exelus Inc. is seeking a highly motivated chemical engineer
or chemist with expertise in heterogeneous catalysts. Potential
initial assignments include the use of new catalytic systems for
synthesis gas production, Fischer-Trospch’s synthesis and
iso-paraffin alkylation. The ideal candidate will have extensive
hands-on experience in the design of catalysts, as well as their
synthesis and evaluation. An understanding of process and chemical
reactor design and engineering and chemical fundamentals is also
important. The candidate will have the responsibility for designing
and running experiments, interpreting experimental data and suggesting
new research approaches. In addition, the successful applicant will
have the communication skills needed to supervise laboratory staff,
as well as the excellent written and verbal skills necessary to
present results to project sponsors. The position requires a MS.
in chemistry or chemical engineering (or BS + 3 years relevant experience)
and academic and/or industrial experience in catalysis.
